Sketching Notebook - Cramber Tor, Dartmoor

  • $11.00

Probably just like you, I love a good notebook. I've always got at least one tucked into a pocket, three beside the bed, and a scattering around the studio and the house. They're all my favourites for different reasons, but almost none of them are landscape format. That's because it's hard to find great notebooks specifically designed this way.

Every detail of these notebooks has been carefully considered. The inside pages are made in England from recycled coffee cups (a little nod to the number of times I've filled a notebook in a coffee shop!). The cover paper is made on the world's oldest still running mechanical paper mill, and it's decorated with leftover ink from our printing projects. Once the ink is dry (this can take weeks in some cases), the covers are then printed, and assembled using our studio of amazing vintage tools, which are all powered by hand.

  • Notebook size: 115 mm x 165 mm (approximately)
  • Pages: 32 pages of recycled paper made in England from take-away coffee cups. A lovely 120gsm paper with a bit of texture
  • Cover: 280gsm. Recycled paper, and UK-made. Embellished with leftover ink from our printing processes. Each one is unique.
  • Founts: Gill Sans (10pt, 24pt bold, 14pt); dashed line is brass rule
  • Press: 1960s Stephenson Blake galley proofing press
  • Perfect for: nature journaling, jotting down notes, gratitude journaling, and making to-do lists.

Tor: On Dartmoor, rock outcrops are referred to as "tors". They are generally at the top of a hill, but not always. Cramber Tor is a little south of Princetown and a bit of a trek. Not because of the distance, but because of the likelihood of bog and streams on your way there! On a clear day (which does happen!), Cramber Tor offers a wonderful viewing platform to look west. It's also quite close to Crazy Well Pool, a popular spot with wild swimmers.

This is part of the Plan, Reflect, Share series. Its aim is to support people who are dealing with anxiety by getting their thoughts out of their head, and onto paper. This is step "two" of the process: journaling.

All of our papers are recycled, and British where possible. We can provide you specific details on certifications each paper has, and the mill where they were made.
