New ideas need old buildings

  • £25.00

This beautifully crafted piece is a tribute to the enduring relationship between innovation and tradition. Each letter of this profound statement from Jane Jacobs is meticulously pressed into premium, British-made recycled paper, offering a tactile experience that digital prints cannot match.

Jane Jacobs was an American-Canadian journalist and author. She spent her life keeping cities relevant to their citizens and writing books about urban development. Although we're based in rural Devon, the quote seemed like the absolute right thing to have as our first poster in our new-to-us workshop at Tor Royal Farm.

Features:

  • Authentic Letterpress Printing: Utilizing traditional letterpress techniques, each character printed from our vintage type has its own quirks, highlighting the depth and texture unique to this art form.
  • Elegant Design: The minimalist layout emphasizes the powerful message, making it a striking addition to any space.

Perfect For:

  • Architects and Urban Planners: A meaningful piece that resonates with those who understand innovation cannot happen if all monies are poured into infrastructure instead.
  • Design Enthusiasts: Ideal for graphic designers, interior designers, and typographers who appreciate the beauty of letterpress and the significance of combining old and new.
  • Creatives and Innovators: Inspires those in the creative fields to draw on the past as they build the future, making it a thoughtful addition to studios, offices, and creative spaces.
  • Educators and Students: A great educational tool and inspirational piece for classrooms and libraries, sparking discussions on urban development, history, and creativity.
  • Home and Office Decorators: Adds a touch of sophistication and depth to any room, serving as a daily reminder of the harmonious blend of history and progress.

Celebrate the harmony between the past and the future with our Jane Jacobs "New Ideas Need Old Buildings" Letterpress Poster. It’s not just a piece of decor, but a statement of values, perfect for those who cherish the intricate dance between tradition and innovation.
