From Garden to Ink: Making Botanical Colour from Duchy of Cornwall Nursery
Join Emma and Jon from Princetown Press for an absorbing and inspirational morning learning how to make inks from plants.
Emma Hogbin and Jon Palmer own and run Princetown Press, where the focus is on sustainability.
This session is held at Duchy of Cornwall Nursery.
Date: 1 March 2026
Time: 9:30 - 11:30am
Refreshments are included.
During the session, we will be making ink from plants. The methods are as simple as boiling a potato, but the results are much more interesting! By the end of this session you will have learned the steps needed to make your own inks at home, including where to source materials, and tips for storage to improve the longevity of your homemade inks.
You will take home:
- A small bottle of ink you've made during the workshop
- Handout including a basic ink-making recipe and information about our processes
- New ideas on how to engage with your garden, kitchen scraps, and nature
All of our papers are recycled, and British where possible. We can provide you specific details on certifications each paper has, and the mill where they were made.
