Merry Christmas card
Delightful hand printed greeting.
These cards are the epitome of thoughtful, hand-made work. The letters are arranged on the proofing press and locked into position. They are then inked by hand in deep red. The card is then placed onto the inked wooden letters, and the roller passed over the card to take the impression.
Made with a truly remarkable fount: Penny Farthing, originally designed in 1974, includes three different styles, the largest of which has spaces to allow the smallest to interlock within the form.
- Press. Printed by hand on a 1960s Stephenson Blake galley proofing press; and Adana table-top press (c. 1970s).
- Paper. 280gsm in "oatmeal" with a gorgeous fleck. Recycled using 100% post-consumer materials
- Envelope. White, recycled paper
- Size. 105mm x 148mm when closed
- Fount. Penny Farthing, made by British wood type manufacturer, Type High Design
This card was part of the make-and-take at our December 2023 open house. There were only 20 made.
