Delightful hand printed greeting.
There is nothing efficient about the making of these cards. They are the epitome of slow, thoughtful, hand-made work. The letters are arranged on the proofing press and loosely locked into position. They are then inked by hand in a custom shade of blue. The card is then placed onto the inked wooden letters, and the roller passed over the card to take the impression. The whole process is then repeated for the second colour, green. Once dried, the backs are printed again on our 1910 cast iron proofing press with information about our studio. The letters are all individually chosen from a type case and locked into position.
These are a notecard format, not an open-close card. Usually, people buy them as mini-posters to frame and hang on the wall.
All of our papers are recycled, and British where possible. We can provide you specific details on certifications each paper has, and the mill where they were made.
