Sending Spoons Red wood type

  • £6.25

This card refers to Christine Miserandino‘s Spoon Theory. It is a metaphor describing the amount of physical and/or mental energy that a person has available for daily activities and tasks, and how it can become limited. (Ref)

There is nothing efficient about the making of these cards. They are the epitome of slow, thoughtful, hand-made work. The letters are arranged on the proofing press and loosely locked into position. They are then inked by hand in deep red. The card is then placed onto the inked wooden letters, and the roller passed over the card to take the impression. Once dried, the backs are printed again on our 1910 cast iron proofing press with information about our studio. The letters are all individually chosen from a type case and locked into position.
