At our studio, you will experience the precision and joy of creating hand-set, hand-printed items with heritage letterpress techniques. Even if you've never set foot in a print studio, you will have no problems creating your printed items.
You can come with ideas, or without. Either way, we'll teach you the basics of letterpress printing and introduce you to our favourite studio processes for dealing with overwhelm and decision paralysis.
What's included:
- Support to design your invitation, including typeface, and ink selection.
- Up to 150 cards, which you will print, and corresponding envelopes.
- Full day in the workshop, with full access to our printing supplies.
- We encourage you to bring your beloved. All couples are welcome.
- Coffee/tea/cake/lunch are provided (we'll pop out for lunch to one of the local cafés in the village; the cost is included).
-
Full day: You will be able to print one design (e.g., Save the Date, OR the invite)
-
Two days: You will be able to print two designs (e.g., Save the Date AND the invite)
- Accommodation can be arranged separately with our marvellous neighbours at Tor Royal B&B or Dartmoor glamping. Links open in a new window.
It really is okay if you've never printed anything before. Most of our students are first-timers at the press. We'll walk you through everything you need to know (and leave out the stuff you don't need to know).
After you've purchased your private workshop, we'll be in touch to discuss dates. If we can't find a mutually agreeable date within a reasonable amount of time, we will issue a full refund. The usual cancellation policy applies.
This also makes a GREAT gift. Simply let us know in the "notes" section when you're making the purchase, and we'll send you a beautifully printed gift certificate that you can give to the lucky recipient. Note: if it's close to the deadline, please purchase a Gift Certificate instead, and the recipient will receive an email-based gift card.
Workshop participants will have access to 15% off all Princetown Press products during their time at the studio.
The workshop is open to everyone, however, there is not an accessible toilet on-site. Participants under the age of 18 will probably benefit from having an older family member or guardian present. The presses are designed to be used while standing, and there is limited seating. Please get in touch if you like to talk through any accommodations that might improve your experience in the studio, or if you have any other questions or concerns about the workshop or facilities.
The workshop is held at our workshop in Princetown, Devon, England. The space is unheated, so please dress warmly if you are booking a workshop during the colder months.
